I would have to say Time after time by her. Makes me think of my first love.

I would prefer Goldfrapp, Fever Ray, The Gossip or Yeah Yeah Yeahs, but at least she isn't as lame as Madonna, Janet, Britney, Xtina, Kylie, Fergie, & Lady Gaga, etc. And it is real music (the blues) and not lame pop/dance crap. And she is out there promoting Equal rights. Her stint in Blue Angel was probs her most interesting time musically speaking. Hmmm...Okay, Cyn, I'll say 'Money Changes Everything'.

Time after Time is a song that will always resonate with people of all ages and musical tastes because the melody grabs you and pulls you in. It is used in the movie Strictly Ballroom in a turning point between two people that come together. It's haunting chorus remains in our minds long after the song has ended.

Time after Time is sure a top... but mine oddly is Girls Just wanna Have Fun. it brings in family thoughts and resonates a sense of fun, frivality, letting loose , the rebel within us. not just "girls", but those under control of someone else whether it be dad, mom or a broken relationship. Anyway it makes me smile... and have FUN! And having fun is no doubt a happy one... which adds years to our lives...

My name is David Frontini From Queensland Australia. About 16 years ago I actually attended one her concerts when she to Sydney Australia & I really enjoyed my self. My favourite Cyndy Lauper song is Money Changes Everything & I used to dream of leaving my old life & family behind. Now that I recently inherited some money, I intend to do just that,.

I have loved this girl since the 80s. I saw her live in Manchester and was blown away by the power of her voice. She was just as good live as she was on record. When I heard her on the all star charity single We Are The World, she took my breath away. She just tore that song up and was the best thing on it but my favourite song of hers is True Colors. I was breaking up with someone at the time and this song helped me to realise that not all guys are dogs.

Time after Time is my favorite because it was nice to see Cyndi do something much different than Girls Just Wanna Have Fun. Also, it's one I still listen to and certainly has withstood the test of time.

I L-O-V-E Cindy and it's very difficult to choose only one track but I'll go with She-Bop because of its controversial topic. I guess girls do really want to have fun... LOL

One of the class acts of yesterday and today. Saw her when she opened for Tina Turner in Phoenix. She's been having fun all they way......................... A true "Sister of Avalon"!

i have loved cyndi since she was with the band blue angel "i got to be strong" is one of my absolute favorite songs she has ever sung. and i have loved her work since then. i would like this cd because i can't seem to find in the stores anywhere they are sold out which is good except that they only get 2 or 3 copies of it. so CYN they are not doing you justice !!!! i would like to hear the music before i see her at town hall nyc

Saw her live and up close a few years ago in Canada. True Colors remains my favorite song; it made me cry then...and still does!

The set of pipes on her is amazing.....it really hits you whenever you hear her on the radio. My favorite song would be SHE BOP. Turning it up on the radio while cruising down the highway and singing a song about self pleasure is just a hoot!

One of her last albums has a great dance anthem called " The Same Old Fucking Story". Definitely my favorite song to turn up the car CD player , roll down the windows, and sing outloud...espeically after a boyfriend breakup like in the song!!!

Has to be "She Bop" from her first album. Meaning of the song, 'nuff said. Great first time I heard it, still great after all these years.

This "girl" has wanted to have fun since just about the time "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" hit the Gay 90's bar in Minneapolis. The song still gets me on my feet every time.

Favorite Cyndi Lauper Song is "who Let IN the Rain" She just sings her heart out and bears her soul- Sort of lets you know when you are down -somenoe else feels the same way. And you arent the only person who fels that way.

It's hard to say which of Ms. Lauper's songs is my favorite, but I can say the one that made the most impact on me. It was her cover of Marvin Gaye's 'What's Going On?" from the True Colors album. This record was released in the mid-80s, during the height of hundreds of young gay men dying from a dreaded new disease. so many young lives extinguished. Entire communities were falling apart. Some people were saying that it was 'divine retribution on our sinful ways." And in the midst of the turmoil comes a song that was first recorded in 1970-71 at the height of the Vietnam War protests and hysteria - still holding true by asking the question, "What's Going On?" I remember crying when I first heard the song, and wondering if anyone cared.

I feel the urge to throw in my two cents here. I've been a Cyndi fan since the first time I heard her when I was 9. Got the "She's so Unusual" cassette for my 10th birthday. My favorite song by her, if I had to choose one, would be "Time After Time" but the version on "The Body Acoustic" where she duets with Sarah McLachlan. Their voices go together so well! And also "Fearless" from the same album or the original on "Sisters of Avalon" is a very close second!

One song that is really special to me is "I'm Gonna Be Strong". It's on the Twelve Deadly Cyns CD. I bought this CD when I lived in NYC for the summer of 1995. This was also the summer when I got my first boyfriend and experienced a gay relationship. I remember buying it at HMV and listening to it with him. He is 15 years older than me and knew of the song, which was released as a single from another band Cyndi Lauper was in before we all really knew her. It's a sad song, but I don't think of it that way because of the memories I've attached to it. It just really takes me back to that summer. I'm no longer dating him but we're great friends after all these years.

I'm gonna be strong
And stand as tall as I can
I'm gonna be strong
And let you go along
And take it like a man

True Colors is my favorite. It's so touching and makes me think of the beauty of diversity, self acceptance, the importance of nurturing one another, and of course GAY PRIDE.

well i love the hair :-)

My favorite song of Cyndi's is: "The World Is Stone" - never released in the US, it was a big hit in Europe. The video for it is contained on Cyndi's DVD collection "12 Deadly Cyns... and then some".

It's my favorite ballad of Cyndi's.

All her music takes me back to a different life and time, my college days. These were not all sunshine and games, in fact, quite the contrary. But, amidst it all I developed my first relationship, with the guy who would be my college sweetheart. Both of us still in the closet I remember cuddling some and hearing Äll Through the Night"on the radio. Still when I hear this song I can smell his Jovan Musk, and feel the warmth of his breath and the beat of his heart. We were always afraid of being caught by his big girl roommate. He said he told her everything, but actually left a few details out. Well, she hated me and did all she could to strangle that friendship, which she eventually succeded. Closet and all helped. But, still 20 some years later the song warms a spot in my heart and brings a smile. Yeah, I still love you David in a strange sort of way.

SHEBOP! cos it tells it how it is! something that all of us enjoy. it is the great unifier!

I would have to say Time after Time and True Colors are some of my fav songs!

Her cover of The Brains' song "Money Changes Everything" is a true rock standard. But beyond that, it is true...philosophy with a beat as it were... :)

Hmmmm

Madonna might have the marketing ability, money and the "superstar" fame, but Cyndi is timeless…and has the talent. There are a few of her songs that I really like, but a couple of them really stand out: Time After Time because of it's heartfelt emotion and True Colors because it was popular during the first trip my partner, (now of 25 years), and I took to San Fransisco.

Cyndi is and will always be my number one IDOL... before i die i will see her in concert and meet her... My favorite song of hers would have to be ALL of them.. but if im asked to post one... it would be...(hard to choose) All Through the Night... When i heard it in the 80's it simply gave me the chills because of her beautiful voice and the song itself just made me melt... today every song she does is beautiful... and i hope more in the future.. I LOVE YOU CYNDI....
P.S. the only reason i watched the Celebrity Apprentice was because of her......... when she went home, i quit watching haha ..

I have always loved her originality and her 'fuck what others think' attitude. I love so much of her work, but my current favorite is her cover version of Etta Jame's "At Last" from her album of Torch Songs. But my favorite of ALL is "True Colors" I think it speaks to the gay community in particular!

Cyndi rules !! saw her again last August locally; been a faithful fan since the first LP/CD.............so many favorite songs......but was blown away by her rendition of "If You Go Away" (from the Fantastiks) which she performed in that DVD concert released a few years ago from New Yorks Town Hall...........I ran right out and bought the new Memphis CD; blasting it in my car already...................We Love You Cyndi

True Colours for me as well. The lyrics and melody are beautiful and meaningful, and the video had wonderful imagery like her chandelier head dress, the 2 women having tea in the boat on sand etc.

well over the years cyndi has been a driving force within the gay community, the one song that sticks out as a personal favorite of mine and my late partner is "true colors" for randy and i it signifies that no matter what you are or how you look we are all an intricate part of life. it was the only song he requested to be played at his "celebration of life" after he died. it was an honour for me to grant that wish for him, i still love him with all my heart even after 15 yrs.

Sup?

Cyn Lauper...hmmm...what can I say? Class act all the way. Been followin her since she hit MTV (yeah, when the actually played videos) in 1984. When this girl from Queens with her New Yawk accent and eclectic appearance hit the airwave with GJW2HF, I was a fan for life. The hair (copper read/shaved/patchwork) makeup, newspaper skirts, personality, high notes, long notes have given me over 28 years of enjoyment. I have attended over 60 of her concerts: met her, her husband, her band, her manager. She is generous, heartfelt, demanding for excellence, witty, stubborn, and true to her fans.

If you have the chance, see her live concert video for her song, Boy Blue....this performance sets the bar for where live acts should be: emotion, conviction, whaling of her voice, octave changes, energy and soulful. WOW!

Favorite song is ...yeah..all of em, but Shine, Change of Heart and Boy Blue really stand out 4 me.

This new album, although I am really not into blues, just supports the artistic integrity and gift Cyn has as a singer.

There is only one diva in the house....and her name is Cyn!

my favorite song of this wonderful voiced woman would have to be : "I DROVE ALL NIGHT" nobody else can sing this song like Cyndi Lauper can or even come close, not even Celine Dion !!
