We pay so much attention to the progress we've made in our fight for equality that we sometimes forget to see how far we've come in other areas of our community. Specifically the stigma associated with HIV. In the past month alone, I've seen several articles, including our own Carl Sandler on the Huffington Post , speak frankly and loudly about how much harm can come from how we in the community treat those with HIV. It's a conversation that's been a long time coming but one that people seem eager to address. Whether it's their fears about infection or their experiences dating someone who's negative, there seems to be a more open dialogue on the subject from both sides. It's refreshing and ultimately making our community stronger, and more importantly, safer.

Today, September 21, Positively Aware hosts its third annual Day with HIV. They're asking HIV+ and HIV- alike to take a picture on Sept. 21 and submit a photo to www.adaywithhiv.com by Sept. 25 . By participating in A Day with HIV, regardless of your status, you'll be sending a clear message to others that you've got their backs. For months, Jordan Addison had to drive a car around with the words "Die" "Fag" keyed on the sides, not being able to afford the repairs. But then something amazing happened. A local auto shop owner, hearing from a friend what happened, took it upon himself to repair Jordan's car for free. And then some. Proving that there are still amazing, incredible, kind-hearted people in the world. It's stories like these that you wish would dominate the news everyday. Ellen recently had both men on her show and gave them something for their troubles.

If this doesn't restore your faith in humanity, I'm not sure what will. With so much negativity in the world, we're reminded that, while acts like these don't always get you on TV or handed over-sized checks, they do make a huge difference in others life. In the comments below, we want to hear your random acts of kindness stories. Let us know what you did for someone or what someone has done for you and maybe it'll inspire the lot of us.

Or perhaps, we should all go out this week and populate the world with some new random acts of kindness.

I'd say you're a pretty big deal when you make it onto Entertainment Weekly's Must List and perform on Letterman in the same week. I guess you could say the Blowoff mastermind, Bob Mould, is blowing up. His new album, Silver Age, came out last week and, along with his Blowoff duties, he'll be touring all fall to support the album. You can expect the classic Sugar album Copper Blue to be played front to back with an additional set mixing the new Silver Age material with Husker Du, Sugar and Mould solo classics completing the evening.

We at Daddyhunt have been big fans of the Blowoff party for years now. Mould and his co-pilot Rich Morel spin the perfect alternative to the, no offense, "pots and pans" sounds that blast from every other circuit party. Whether it our DJs at the helm, or the crowd it attracts (which is an attractive crowd), there's something special about what they're doing that create the perfect dance/bar environment. If you're in NYC, I'll see you there this Friday.

All in all, it's pretty exciting that one of our own is getting the press and praise he deserves!
