Even though not nearly as large as some cities nearby, Baltimore’s gay community has experienced a lot of growth in the past few years as a result of the attraction of the city itself. Being a largely blue-collar town, Baltimore’s gay culture isn’t as flashy as others’, but still retains an identity all its own. Mount Vernon is the city’s gay district with the highest concentration of gay bars, restaurants, clubs and other gay friendly places in Baltimore.

Baltimore’s working class nature makes it a great city for Daddies. The gay population tends to be a bit older, so Daddies can find older guys and as well as Hunters in the increasingly young population. Bars like The Gallery, specifically marketed as a Daddy bar, attract an older clientele along with Daddy admirers. Club Gypsies and The Stagecoach also both have a large Daddy following.

The population of Baltimore tends to be a bit older, so Hunters in the city will have their pick of the crop. Grand Central is a bar that attracts the younger guys, and in Mount Vernon, Hippo is a dance club that caters to a younger crowd but also has a good number of Daddies that unwind there.

Bears will feel welcome in many Baltimore bars. Leon's of Baltimore, is a bear-friendly, gay staple in the city that has been around for roughly 50 years. The Baltimore Eagle is similar to other Eagles around the country, drawing in an older crowd along with leather Daddies and Bears of all ages.
