Los Angeles boasts one of the largest gay populations in California. Although not as famous as San Francisco’s, the gay community of Los Angeles has its own unique identity and culture. West Hollywood is the gay haven of LA. An overwhelming majority of its inhabitants are gay and many of the gay-themed events in the city take place here such as Los Angeles Pride and Outfest, the LGBT film festival. The area became affiliated with gays in the 40’s and 50’s, and has a large number of gay-friendly hotels, bars, and restaurants. Silver Lake is the second largest concentration of gays in Los Angeles and also contains its own edgier, alternative gay-oriented nightlife.

Both West Hollywood and Silver Lake are places where Daddies can meet guys in LA. Both neighborhoods boast a large number of bars that attract an older gay crowd and appreciate older men. In West Hollywood, bars like Gold Coast, Mother Lode, and Gym Bar have a more mature following. Silverlake’s MJ's is a popular bar for Daddies to meet other Daddies and well as Hunters while The Eagle has a large following of Leather Queens, um, Daddies. Lol.

Hunters frequent both West Hollywood and Silverlake, along with many other parts of this huge gay metropolis, to find other like-minded guys as well as Daddies. LA’s nightlife provides many hotspots for young guys to unwind and meet other guys. Fubar in West Hollywood provides guys a more relaxed atmosphere. The Abbey and Rage are West Hollywood bars/clubs where many young gays spend their nights and weekends. The Abbey is a great place to hang during the day in West Hollywood and serves food and drinks. Again, MJ’s in Silverlake is popular for Hunters to find a daddy. If you find yourself at the Beach (Santa Monica, Venice Beach, Marina Del Rey, etc.) there’s a great bar called Roosterfish on Abbot Kinney in Venice Beach that is great for drinks at all hours and welcomes Daddies, surfers and sexy misfits of all ages. Weekends are busiest though so for a true Roosterfish experience, Friday or Saturday night are best.

Los Angeles accommodates all types of gays and Bears are no exception. Bars such as the Faultline in Silverlake are commonplace for Bears to hang out along with guys of all ages. In North Hollywood, the Bullet Bar is a staple for Bears that come to the area.

Although San Francisco dominates the gay scene in California, Los Angeles
hosts a number of gay oriented events. Some include:
