Although it isn’t as popular of a vacation destination as other cities in California, San Jose is a large city with a small gay population. Although the community is not as large and vibrant as others in California, San Jose’s gay culture has a very casual welcoming feel. The gay scene in this business-oriented city is not defined by one specific neighborhood, but is spread throughout the city.

Daddies will have their pick of guys at bars in San Jose like Renegades. One of the most popular nightclubs in San Jose, this bar caters to all types of gay guys and shouldn’t be missed while in the city. Mac's Club is another low-key bar with a generally more mature following where Daddies are often found, unwinding after their day.

Younger gay guys in the city should hunt at places like Tinker’s Dam in San Jose. Many of the other bars in San Jose have an older crowd but this bar tends to attract younger guys in the area. King of Clubs has a dance floor for guys that like to get down on their night on the town. At Brix, the crowd is usually much younger so if you are looking for younger guys this place may be for you.

For Bears, Renegade’s is probably the best bet again as the crowd there is a bit older (and sometimes a bit hairier). It is a bit more rugged than many of the other bars in San Jose.
