The Bare Chest Calendar - Introducing the Lucky 13!

May 21, 2011

The Bare Chest Calendar is a San Francisco-based icon now in its 27th year of raising critical funds for local AIDS services charities. In 2011, we were able to raise a record-breaking $162,000 despite the challenging economy, thanks to our loyal fans across the U.S. as well as in Canada, France, the U.K. and the Netherlands!

My name is Mark Buckovich and I am extremely fortunate to be Mr. January 2011. I take great pride in spreading the word about this amazing annual fundraising project and soon we will be able to put another year under our belt with the 2012 Calendar! I'll be posting regular updates on Daddyhunt regarding our progress and events throughout the rest of the year.

The Calendar is unique because, in addition to selling the Calendar, the Calendar Men also raise money throughout the year by hosting fundraising events in San Francisco, Palm Springs and Sacramento, from hoedown dance-a-thons to Gay Pride street fair booths. A large number of volunteers help put the Calendar and the year-long events together so 100% of every penny we raise goes to AIDS Emergency Fund and the Positive Resource Center. Our biggest fundraising event is the annual Dinner Date Auction Gala in August at the Sir Francis Drake Hotel where the 2011 Men brought in a record-breaking $40,000.

On May 1, the final competition for the 2012 calendar tool place at the DNA Lounge and it came down to the "Lucky 13" Men for the 2012 calendar. Yes, "Lucky 13"! Every year the Calendar achieves some sort of unexpected "first" and this years competition resulted in a first ever tie that could not be broken so there will be 13 Men on the 2012 Bare Chest Calendar! This group of hunks have already broken the fundraising record set by the 2011 at this same time last year so they are off to an fantastic start! You will get a chance to see them looking sexy on very soon.

Do we have any Bare Chest Calendar fans here on Daddyhunt? Maybe even some of our Alumni?

Until next time!

Good Morning to all the hot sexy Bearchested Men who give there time working so hard in the city to make having a calander one of the highlights of some of our lives. Mark We love you and the hot guys who give us so much pleasure being aroud you and seeing you up close! Hugs and kisses to all the Men of San Francisco.

Wow 162.000.00 thats so very Hot going to make me cry! So many of my friends are gone But so many will now benfit for your hard work!

I can't even begin to express how much we appreciate you taking the time to share your kind words about the Calendar. We could not do it without the support from fans and followers who recognize the time commitment of the Calendar Men and the importance of what we do. The Bare Chest Calendar is, indeed, a highlight of our community!

I think that is great.. all the things you guys do to raise money for aids.. I think it is so sad for those that have lost their life. Because, of aids.. I have a cousin who has aids.. To, be totally honest I am not sure if he is still living. Because, he has lost contact with our family. I miss talking to him.. It has been quite sometime since I have talked to him. All, I know is that I think God everyday that I have not caught this dreadful disease.. I, am not one of those type of people, that say It will never happen to me. But, one thing for sure I have definitely commited myself to making sure, that I am not of those type.. that are out there messing around.. I, am not judging anyone here at all. But, the way I look at things are all responsible for the choices we make in life. I found out in 2002 not only did I have type 2 diabetes, But I also had hepatits B. I asked the doctor how I got hepatits B.. He told me, that I got from my mom when she was pregnant long ago, and had a blood transfusion I believe.. It, definitely had a huge effect on my life.. If, I had it to do all over again.. I would have made different choices as far as choosing to have anonymous sex.. Because, to begin with I made wrong choices back then.. But, have to concentrate on now.. Because I cannot change what I did in my past. There, is no sense to conitnually beat myself about what I did in my past. All, that will do is cause more heartache.. I, am going through enough right now still dealing with the lost of my mom. She passed January 31, 2012 at 6:45 pm. Right-now, I am looking for a monogamous relationship.. I wish would have done that years ago!!

Mark B! B still my heart! WOOF!!!

"WOOF" is great in so many ways!!! :)

Yes, I bow to all these superior men who try to act so modest about their beauty--such cavaliers they are

That's one of the great things about the Bare Chest Calendar - so many different guys who are sexy in so many different ways...but all are humbled by the cause we serve. :)

Some of them may be gay. Certainly the person is never visible within images and when you first meet someone it is like not knowing the ingredients of the cake below the frosting.

Touche--great comment!

bless those special guys who are blessed with great bodies and the inclination to share them with the rest of us, especially for a charitable cause. Keep up the good work and the good workouts.

We thank you for all your blessings! :)
And that is our theme this year -- "Use It For Good!"

Thank you, all, for your supportive comments about the Bare Chest Calendar! Being on the Calendar is so much more than, well, just being on a Calendar that sits on a store shelf. It's about a powerful alumni network of nearly three decades of Calendar Men, loyal fans and behind the scenes volunteers working together to help people living with HIV/AIDS maintain access to medical care and drug therapies, avoid eviction and homelessness, get benefits counseling and employment services, and live with greater stability and dignity. The Bare Chest Calendar is about a grass roots effort to make sure we never stop donating our time, energy, money and compassion to those in need. We love our cause and we love our fans! The 2012 Calendar will be launched at San Francisco Gay Pride June 2011 and we can't wait to get started with the first of many fundraising events!

I'm so glad you're pretty.
