Daddyhunt Peer Series: Meet Casper

April 18, 2012

Welcome to our first ever Daddyhunt Peer Series! We'll be issuing 5 questions to guys across the globe to learn more about our mature brethren in an effort to entertain, enlighten, and hopefully inspire. First up, film maker Casper Andreas.

Who are you and what do you do?
My name is Casper Andreas. I grew up in Sweden but I live in New York. I'm a film director, writer and actor. My latest film "Going Down in LA-LA Land" is about to open in theaters, starting with New York this Friday (April 20th).

Tell us about Going Down in La La Land.
It's a dark comedy, or dramedy if you want, about a struggling actor in Los Angeles who ends up getting involved in all kind of shady stuff to survive in Hollywood.

What do you know today that you wish you knew 20 years ago.
That Apple stock should be bought and held on to.

If you could part one piece of wisdom on today's gay youth, what would it be?
Don't waste your life away on stuff you really don't want to do, or worry to much about stuff you can't change. Life is too short -- it needs to be lived with passion!

Describe your perfect day for us.
I have to spend at least a few days doing something creative. So unless that means shooting a movie, it's sitting a few hours at Starbucks working on my new script. It also involves some time at the gym, and a nice dinner with good friends. Let's throw in a massage too! All that writing makes my neck very tense.

Thanks to Casper for kicking things off for us. We're hoping to make this a regular thing, so if you're interesting in being a part of our Peer Series, or know someone who would, send us an email at featured@daddyhunt.com.

Amen about Apple.

I read the book a few years ago. Perfect beach reading about the Hollywood underbelly. There were some interesting Daddy types in it also. I could drop a spoiler that everyone here would appreciate but I won't. Good luck with your movie!

Thanks Daddyhunt for featuring Casper. I've met him several times and he is a delightful person . . . I saw his film at the Reeling Film Festival in Chicago in November last year and wish him well with the launch of the film. Great talent, Casper and the actors were outstanding.

The mention of living life with passion is good to a point. A wee bit of common sense is good to be mixed in and not jump to the one-liners without knowing if a guy is married and other sorts of drama.

I agree with his philosophy, but the movie premise does not sound very original. Haven't we seen this before? Innocent lamb finds out about the big bad wolves in Hollywood. If it's well done, you will sell tix; it sounds like we already rode this coaster a time or two

I would gladly serve as Caspers Masseur and perhaps chat about story line structure when the session is over. I have an idea in my head that I think people would react well to but I can't seem to put it all down on paper.

Be careful about thinking that any facet of life or peoples lives are accurately portrayed in any single publication that is from one single individual point of view based on that persons particular experiences, personality, motivations and mood of the moment that might result in altered states while writing a book on a beach resort.
